In Loving Memory

Picture
At our reception, there will be a table dedidcated to our grandparents that are no longer with us.  On this table will be 2 picture frames of our grandparents, a framed poem, 2 memory candles, and this is where I will set my bouquet for the night in a vase.

I'll need to alter these when I figure more details out, but I have the basic gist done.

Bridesmaid Prep. Wear

Picture
Your girls gotta feel pampered!  I made them all some wedding day wear to match our colors of red and silver.  We are getting our hair & makeup done in a Bed & Breakfast down the street from the castle.  I went to a craft store (Pat Catan's) and bought iron-on rhinestones for about $3/girl.  The tank tops I got from Wal-Mart on sale for $5.  Couldn't be easier!

Mom's deserve a little pampering, too!

Footwear for the Reception

Picture
These were so fun to make!  The flip flops were from Old Navy & I got them for $2.50/pair.  The gems are hot-fix Swarovski crystals.  These are the bridesmaids' reception shoes.  They are silver with red & clear crystals.  I am considering painting one of their initials on each shoe (first & last). Haven't decided yet!

Here are the flip flops I made for myself for the reception.  They are ivory with clear Swarovski crystals.  You can't tell from the picture, but they really sparkle!

Engagement Display

Picture
I wasn't exactly sure what to do with all the over-priced pictures from our engagement shoot.  So...I decided to create a display of them to be placed around our guest book.  I bought a 20X24 canvas and painted it red, using acrylic paint.  I bought a wooden word "Celebrate" for under a dollar and painted it silver.  Then I used silver to paint the flourishes on the corners, matching our invitations.  I backed the photographs with red and silver cardstock and used photo mounting squares and glue dots to adhere them to the canvas.  I attached the "Celebrate" also using glue dots.  Around each corner I used glue dots to place the rhinestones beads (found in the jewelry-making aisle).  Lastly, I bought a frame (not pictured) that fit the canvas.  I did not want a frame with glass, as it could make unsightly reflections with the 3-D contents inside.  Using duct tape on the back, I was able to secure the canvas to the frame -- gotta love duct tape!

Engagement Display Stand

Here is the stand that will hold the engagement display.  It was $15 at Pat Catan's.

Cake Topper (Before)

Picture
I used Crafty Eddy to create a duplicate of our monogram.  He is wonderful.  He contacted me within an hour of my initial inquiry to answer questions and to send my his image gallery of past work.  Within a day I told him what I wanted & hours later he emailed me the image of the finished project.  I am going to hotfix red rhinestones on the "S" and "M" and clear rhinestones on the "B."

Cake Table Letters

Picture
I made these to coordinate with the cake topper, with red & clear crystals.  Although the background color is white & I sprayed it with silver glitter paint.

Aisle Runner

Picture
Beginning Stage
I love the idea of having a personalized aisle runner for my wedding!  My mom & dad will be walking me down the aisle, though, & I'm not sure if any of the pre-made aisle runners are wide enough for all of us to walk on.  So I'm still trying to figure things out, but I have printed my monogram & enlarged it to poster-size.  When painted, it will match the cake topper: S & M are red, & B is silver.

"Thank You" Scroll -- Must Take Photo

Picture
First Step
I am making a large scroll to hold in front of the castle doors that says "Thank You!" on it.  I want to include this picture in the guests' thank you cards, following the wedding.  You can see I have my helper here, making sure the letters are properly spaced and centered.

The material that I am using is ivory colored vinyl.  I wanted something that could roll nicely without crinkling & also be painted on.

Personalized Handkerchiefs

Picture
I am not making the handkerchiefs, but I decorated the boxes that they will be given in.  I'm ordering one for each of my parents and including a poem with both of them.  I plan to surprise them on the day of the wedding with these.  The boxes tie shut with a pink ribbon.  The pink one is for my mom & the blue for my dad.

To My Mom On My Wedding Day,
From the time I was a little girl
you've taught me right from wrong,
through everything I chose to do
your love for me was strong.

You helped me with my homework

so I could understand,
attended all my school events
and lent a helping hand.

Years and years of your support,

you've been there through it all,
to share in all my victories
and catch me when I'd fall..

Now I take my biggest step

down an aisle to be a bride,
and as I walk with you, dear Mom
I'm glad you're by my side.

This hanky is a keepsake

a gift from me to you.

Thank you so for all you've done

to make my dreams come true.

I love you, Mom.

To My Dad On My Wedding Day
It seems like only yesterday
when in our yard we played,

you taught me how to catch fast balls
and not to be afraid.

You gave me a foundation
and taught me right from wrong
and with your life experience
showed me weak from strong.

When I needed guidance
you showed me excellence,
you shared your time and thoughts on life
and with it common sense.

I want so much to thank you

for all you've given me...
your strength and love and wisdom
and the lasting memories.

Soon I will be married
and I want for you to know,
all that I have learned from you
will never be outgrown.

I love you, Dad.
